SUBSTITUTE/GUEST TEACHERS 

Certified substitute and guest teachers serve in the absence of a regular contracted teacher. A certified substitute teacher holds a valid substitute teaching license for the state of Pennsylvania. Guest teachers must have a bachelor's degree and participate in the Guest Teacher Training Program through Education Staffing Solutions.

Being a substitute teacher is a great way for individuals who are working toward a degree in education to gain valuable classroom experience! 

• As an ESS employee working for Hamburg Area School District, Substitute/Guest Teachers and Nurses earn a competitive rate of $150.00 per day. 
• Teaching staff and nurses who retire from the District or who resign amicably will earn $187.50 per day.
• Long-term substitutes (92.5+ days in one consecutive assignment) are paid according to our salary schedule, as per our Collective Bargaining Agreement, and are considered employees of the District. Vacancies will be posted on our Employment Opportunities page where applicants may apply online. 

SUBSTITUTE NURSES   

Licensed nurses (RN's / LPN's) who wish to be considered a Substitute Nurse for the District will earn a per diem rate of $150.00. Applicants do not need to hold a PDE Nurse Certification to be a Substitute Nurse.

PARAPROFESSIONAL/CLERICAL/CUSTODIAL SUBSTITUTES

Support Staff Substitutes serve in the absence of a regular Support Staff employee. If you are interested in gaining experience in a field other than teaching, a support staff substitute may be the position for you. The hourly rate for paraeducators, clerical and custodial substitutes is $13.34 per hour. Please contact Education Staffing Solutions to apply for one or more of the positions below:

FOOD SERVICE SUBSTITUTES
