My name is Miss Marcy Donatelli. I will be your child's teacher this year. I am very excited to be here at Tilden Elementary Center. This will be an exciting year for the students, who will be learning and experiencing many new things. I believe communication lines need to be open between school and home. I am here to help your child succeed in school to their fullest potential. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to contact me either via email or phone. The phone will only ring in my room in the morning before school starts and in the afternoon after school ends. EDUCATION - I am a 1999 graduate of the Hamburg Area School District. I graduated from Penn State University Park in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with an option of Family, Children and Youth along with minors in Psychology and Business. I attended Drexel University to obtain my teaching certificate in 2008. In 2011, I received my Master's Degree from Wilkes University in Classroom Technology. In 2013, I received my second Master's Degree from Wilkes University in The Art and Science of Teaching. I am continuing to take classes in order to stay current on the best practices in education.
TEACHING BACKGROUND – This is my 17th year teaching in the Hamburg Area School District. I have taught first, second, third and fourth grades. I have also taught in both elementary buildings. I did my student teaching in Centre County, Pennsylvania in the Bald Eagle Area School District. I was placed at Mountaintop Elementary in a kindergarten classroom.
BACKGROUND and INTERESTS - I grew up in Hamburg with my parents and twin sisters. After graduating from high school, I moved away for college. I lived in Centre County for 7 years. WE ARE.....PENN STATE!! After completing student teaching and some substitute work in Centre County, I moved back to Berks County. I bought a house in Hamburg and live with my two kittens, Spunky and Smokey. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, doing gardening in my flowerbeds, reading, and much more. I am passionate about learning, so I am always looking for new things to try and learn.
