Camp Connect
Camp Connect is a free bereavement camp that provides students with the opportunity to come together to learn new ways of dealing with their grief, and to meet other children and families who have experienced similar loss. Specially trained counselors, nurses, and college interns from across Berks County provide support with a one-to-one staff to student ratio. This four-day experience will be filled with fun activities, art, music, and games combined with grief education and emotional support. Specially trained volunteers and mental health professionals facilitate all camp activities. Camp Connect is offered through Berks County Intermediate Unit and is supported by a collaborative partnership from Berks County Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities Program, Jan’s Circle of Friends, local hospice bereavement programs, social agencies, and therapy dogs.
